Karachi’s schools were closed because to the intense rain.

Due to the continuous rain in Karachi, all educational institutions, including schools, were closed on Wednesday, September 10.

The decision was made public by the Karachi commissioner, who also issued a notification to compel the schools’ closure.

Additionally, Dow University has postponed all of the September 10 exams, stating that alternative dates will be revealed later.

Since yesterday, rain has been falling on portions of Karachi, with reports of both light and heavy showers occurring intermittently throughout the city.

According to Dunya News, Karachi’s Lyari and Malir streams swelled as a result of Tuesday’s intense monsoon rains, causing urban flooding and submerging residential neighborhoods.

Rainwater seeped into Nagan Chowrangi and Sarjani Town’s residential areas. Homes in the vicinity were submerged as the Malir Stream overflowed at Ayub Goth Bridge and Lasi Goth. Once Thado Dam was full, the Lyari and Malir streams both swelled alarmingly.

Communities nearby, including Nishtar Basti and Essa Nagri, were inundated by floodwater. Traffic movement was seriously disrupted as water from Thado Dam entered the M-9 Motorway and affected the track leading to Hyderabad.
