Khawaja Asif calls on the PTI to act in the interest of the country.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders were asked by Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Wednesday to act in the country’s best interests and refrain from undermining its security institutions in the future.

“This practice needs to be stopped in the future,” he stated in an interview with a private television channel, citing PTI’s involvement in the May 9 riots.

He responded, “We have initiated a dialogue process with PTI in the larger national interest,” to a query concerning dialogue with the opposition. According to the minister, we have been able to lower inflation despite the political unrest caused by PTI leaders since 2018.

He claimed that the ongoing efforts of the current administration are the reason why Pakistan’s economy is growing daily. He asserted that political stability is necessary for the government to properly accomplish its export and economic goals.

When asked about foreign interference in Pakistan’s domestic issues, he responded, “No one can dictate on our country’s defense affairs.” He went on to say that Pakistan has the complete right to use whatever resources at its disposal to address its defense needs.
