LHC CJ urges cooperation to stop the establishment’s meddling in the legal system

In order to strengthen public confidence in the judiciary’s impartiality and dedication to the rule of law, Chief Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan of the Lahore High Court urged the judiciary to fight the establishment and vowed that interference from it would cease promptly.

In his speech, the LHC CJ stressed how the court would soon be free from establishment meddling. He asserted that cooperation was required from all parties to end establishment meddling in the legal system.

“The country’s misfortune lies in the establishment’s interference in the judiciary,” he declared.

He was speaking on the occasion of Rawalpindi’s e-court and conciliation centers’ opening.

Justice Khan addressed issues of lateness by highlighting measures like biometric attendance and unannounced inspections to guarantee judicial accountability. He reiterated that the judiciary is dedicated to bravely enforcing the law, restoring public confidence in its objectivity, and preserving the rule of law.

Justice Khan praised the majority of lawyers for their professionalism and dedication in his address, while he admitted that there are obstacles in the legal field.

He declared, “We installed CCTV cameras in courts with the goal of improving judicial proceedings’ efficiency and transparency.”

The CJ emphasized that court lockouts and strikes often result in further delays in cases, and he welcomed Punjab’s legal community’s support in eradicating this culture.
