Liaqat Baloch attacks the ruling coalition for reaching a consensus on changing the constitution

The leaders of the main political parties were criticized on Thursday by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Naib Emir Liaqat Baloch for reaching an unfair compromise on a highly debated constitutional change.

Baloch expressed his curiosity in a statement as to why his coalition partners were using Prime Minister Shehbaz as a pawn to force changes to the constitution.

The proposed modification to the constitution, according to Baloch, was motivated by malice and would encourage horse-trading and political instability.

Baloch discussed the indications made by the government to restore relations with India following the conclusion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Islamabad, where India was represented by Jay Shankar, the Indian Minister of External Affairs. He stated that the JI refused to do so by disguising their actions behind the SCO summit.
