Job Description
Qualification:
- Masters IR, LLB, LLM (Masters in Law/Bar at Law or higher or equivalent from a well reputed HEC recognized University) preferably LUMS
- Academic Merit shall be given preference
Experience: 3- 9 Years
Major Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory laws and advise management accordingly
- Time to time in house legal advice on routine challenges.
- Provide support on Corporate Laws Governance matters
Legal Risk
- Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that the legal risks have been identified and appropriate course of action to mitigate the risk has been taken
- Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management
- Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to the staff.
- Keep Management, senior management informed and updated on new laws/court hearings and their implication on company and its subsidiary
- Will be representable for all contract management
Litigation Management
- Handling of all litigations, liaising with external lawyers of company/counsel for devising strategies to close the cases in the favor of group/company whenever required.
- Represent organization in litigation as an in-house lawyer
Contract Negotiation and Management
- Draft, vet and review all contracts or any other documentation where the organization has committed itself and assess legal implications that need to be brought to the management’s attention
- Liaise with relevant Government offices, panel law firms and other competent authorities for Company business
Skills Required:
- Proven track record of providing accurate and effective legal counsel
- Proven track record of adding value to an organization through the development of comprehensive contract documents that mitigate risk and penalties
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory law, Corporate law & Labor laws, civil laws and court proceedings
- Strong leadership and managerial skills
- Good planning and organization skills
