Missing AJK citizen case: IHC requests petitioner to transfer to appropriate forum
Khawaja Khursheed Ahmad, an AJK citizen, has been missing since Monday. The matter was heard by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday.
The Defence Ministry’s legal director made an appearance in court.
Justice Kayani expressed satisfaction after the additional attorney general told the court that Khawaja Khursheed Ahmad was being held in military detention for espionage.
The court directed the applicant’s attorney to move the case to the appropriate forum in accordance with the law.
When Justice Kayani questioned the Attorney General about Khawaja Khursheed’s military retirement, the Law Officer nodded.
The attorney for the petitioner requested a copy of the court’s responses. Upon getting the document, Justice Kayani requested that they proceed to the appropriate forum.
It should be mentioned that during the prior hearing, the secretaries of defence and home received notices from the court. The directive to both secretaries was to get in touch with the ISI, MI, and FIA to find out the most recent information regarding the whereabouts of the missing AJK citizen.
