Mobile phone use in schools is prohibited per KP government policy.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it is illegal to use a cell phone in class.
The Directorate of Education Department has requested that all district education officers prohibit cell phone use during school hours in a letter that was addressed to them.
The Department of Education claims that since using a phone while in class interferes with students’ academic performance, it should be prohibited.
The letter further stated that all staff members will give their cell phones to the institution’s leaders first thing in the morning.
In the post, it is instructed that staff members should contact the school head’s landline or cell phone in an emergency.
