Mohammed Zubair discusses his decision to join the PTI.
Mohammad Zubair, the former Governor of Sindh, has said that he is now in talks regarding the possibility of joining the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), led by Imran Khan.
During his appearance on the programme “Khabar,” Mohammad Zubair acknowledged that while no definitive decision has been reached, ongoing negotiations are taking place.
When questioned about his potential affiliation with the PTI after Imran Khan’s release, Mohammad Zubair replied, “I believe it would be prudent to exercise patience and observe the situation before making any decisions.”
According to him, the PTI is presently encountering challenges as a result of their founder’s incarceration.
The ex-governor of Sindh advocated for the dismissal of the ‘baseless’ charges against PTI. In addition, he insisted on the establishment of a judicial panel to investigate the riots that occurred on May 9.
There is a need for a judicial investigation of the events that occurred on May 9, and the prosecution should examine the cases. Mohammad Zubair emphasised that these kind of occurrences, such as the May 9 riots, should not be exploited for political advantage.
The PTI Spokesman, Raoof Hassan, stated that Mohammad Zubair, a dissident of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former Sindh Governor, expressed his desire to join the political party led by Imran Khan.
Raoof Hassan reported that former President Arif Alvi conveyed a communication indicating Muhammad Zubair’s inclination towards joining the PTI.
“The final decision on Muhammad Zubair’s potential membership in the PTI will be made by the PTI founder,” stated Raoof Hassan.
The PTI spokesperson stated that individuals who abandoned the party under challenging circumstances would face significant obstacles if they attempted to rejoin the PTI’s membership.
