Mohsin Naqvi praises the police for stopping the PTI’s demonstration in D-Chowk.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi thanked the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest’s “conspiracy of mischief” for failing on Wednesday.
Following the protester dispersal operation, Naqvi praised the law enforcement services’ involvement in maintaining peace and order in a statement.
Speaking during an inspection of D-Chowk and Khyber Plaza, Mohsin Naqvi praised the Rangers, Pakistan Army, FC, and the police forces from Sindh, Punjab, and Islamabad for their valiant efforts to drive back the protesters.
The minister also emphasized how courageous the Rangers officers and staff were in taking the initiative to bring peace back to the area.
Additionally, Mr. Naqvi personally acknowledged the bravery of the law enforcement personnel stationed at D-Chowk in purging the streets of criminals during their meeting.
In addition, he expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Army, FC, and police for their dedicated work in maintaining the capital city’s safety and security.
The PTI declared that its demonstration in Islamabad would not be held during the late-night operation.
A PTI spokeswoman stated that a core committee meeting and discussions with party officials would be necessary to decide the party’s future move.
In addition, the spokesperson denounced the brutal suppression of nonviolent demonstrators, saying that hundreds of Pakistanis were hurt after being “rained with bullets” on the streets of Islamabad.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) was directed by Naqvi to start cleaning up the impacted areas and clearing any last-minute roadblocks after he inspected the regions that had been cleansed of demonstrators.
Additionally, the minister evaluated how much damage miscreants had caused to buildings and facilities, making sure that steps would be taken to address the aftermath of the protests.
