MQM-P leader Siddiqui accuses the Sindh government of encroaching on Karachi.

Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the convener of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P), stated on Wednesday that the illegal settlements and encroachments surrounding Karachi’s stormwater drains are mainly the fault of the Sindh government.
Siddiqui claimed in his statement that the Sindh government and local officials’ criminal incompetence is evident in their unwillingness to take preventative action in spite of previous weather warnings.
He said that the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation had been overrun and demolished by the Sindh government. Following the rains, a number of locations and important thoroughfares were flooded, including Shahrah-e-Faisal, Nagan Chowrangi, Qayyumabad, M-9, Nazimabad, North Karachi, Malir, and Gadap.
He added that the biggest illustration of PPP corruption is the collapse of the Bhutto Highway, which was constructed with billions of government dollars.
Karachi has suffered irreversible harm at the hands of bureaucrats, municipal representatives, and non-local Sindh government officials.
The MQM leader went on to say that party MPs and employees in the impacted areas have been directed to expedite relief operations and do everything within their power to help the populace.
