NADRA unveils a redesigned B-Form including enhanced security elements.
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has declared the implementation of a specialized B-Form (birth registration certificate) for children over the age of 10, incorporating enhanced security measures.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that the newly introduced B-Form by NADRA will, for the first time, incorporate fingerprints and pictures as compulsory elements.
Mohsin Naqvi, as stated by the interior ministry spokesperson, indicated that this measure will aid in preventing the theft and misuse of children’s identifying information. The new B-Form will be crucial in mitigating problems such as counterfeit identity cards, illicit passports, and human trafficking, he stated.
NADRA will commence the gradual issuance of the revised B-Form on January 15.
A legal guardian or parent is required to accompany the youngster to the NADRA center.
NADRA has released advice regarding photocopies of crucial papers.
The method necessitates both the child’s electronic birth certificate and the parent’s electronic identity card. A photograph-enabled B-Form will be issued upon completion of the requisite procedures.
The revised B-Form, incorporating the child’s photograph and fingerprints, will be requisite for obtaining a new passport.
He stated that older B-Forms, which do not have a photograph and fingerprints, will no longer be accepted.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior stated that forthcoming revisions will incorporate supplementary identification methods, including iris scans, pictures, and fingerprints, at union councils. Moreover, NADRA’s identity system will be incorporated with the province’s Civil Registration Management Systems.
Furthermore, measures are being implemented to enhance services on the Pak ID mobile application, and there are intentions to distribute digital IDs to all Pakistani nationals.
