Nation to remain immobilized till the existence of NAB: Khaqan, Shahid
Engaging with the press In his sharp criticism of the administration, Shahid Khaqan stated that although the government had pledged to abolish the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) before taking office, they had strengthened it via an ordinance.
“The former prime minister stated that Qamar Bajwa was registering cases, but Javed Iqbal, the former head of the NAB, was saying that the PTI founder was behind the NAB cases.” He inquired, “What was the crime committed by those thousands of people who were locked up?”
This is the first country to tax the tax money you pay, according to a former PML-N leader. “It will be difficult to export because of the amount of taxes they have imposed,” stated Abbasi.
The MNAs and MPAs have been given 5,000 billion rupees. According to the former PM, “the government has increased its expenditures by 25% while overburdening the people with a budget of 4,000 billion rupees.”
He added there was smuggling of cigarettes, gasoline, fuel, and LPG and no one was stopping it. “It is quite evident who is manufacturing illegal cigarettes, yet nobody is taking action to stop it,” he bemoaned.
Yesterday, newly formed political parties Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Misftah Islamil attacked the government budget, saying it was too burdensome for salaried workers and without any improvements.
They implored the government to reduce spending, end smuggling, and boost exports by rewarding businessmen during a press conference.
They further urged the government to reconsider the budget and reverse policies like raising taxes on the salaried class and giving MNAs Rs. 500 billion to use for constituency development projects.
