NEPRA raises electricity rates nationwide.

Under the monthly adjustment heading, the cost of energy has gone up nationwide, including in Karachi.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) announced in a notification that, as part of the monthly fuel adjustment, electricity rates had gone up by 8 paisa per unit throughout Pakistan, including Karachi.
According to the notification, the price increase was implemented as part of the August 2025 monthly adjustment and would also affect K-Electric customers in accordance with government policy standards.
Additionally, it states that the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had originally asked for an increase of 19 paisa per unit for the August adjustment, but that the recovery from consumers will be made in October bills.
NEPRA reserved its decision regarding the request to further increase on September 29.
