Never close the door to negotiation: Khawaja Asif

Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the country’s defense minister, stated on Wednesday that political communication is crucial to settling the nation’s social and political conflicts.

Speaking to a private news channel, he stated that even under difficult conditions, political talks were still a means of reducing tensions. “No political leader or party in our coalition opposes dialogue,” he said, adding that in democracies, political discourse is the key to settling conflicts.

The minister called the harsh language frequently employed by the PTI leadership unproductive.

He declared that his party was dedicated to promoting communication and that “doors for negotiation should never be closed.”

When asked about the PTI’s founder’s combative approach to governmental institutions, he responded that it was unacceptable.

The country’s political fabric has been harmed by PTI’s conduct, he said. In order to restore public confidence in institutions, he called for political parties to put the interests of the country ahead of their own or their parties’ interests.
