OGRA notifies us of changes in gas prices.
The announcement declared that, effective immediately, the new tariff for gas for captive power plants would be Rs 3,000 per mmbtu, an increase of Rs 250 per mmbtu.
Gas costs will be steady for industries like cement, ice, and fertilizer manufacturing, predicts OGRA.
Furthermore, there will be no changes to the tariffs for residential, commercial, or industrial users.
Gas costs for both public and private power plants will remain the same, the announcement further stated.
That the Petroleum Division’s suggestion not to lower gas prices was accepted by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) is worth mentioning at this point.
