On Defence Day, the Pakistan Navy will welcome two contemporary vessels.

According to a statement from the army’s media wing ISPR, “PNS Babar and PNS Hunain will join the fleet of Pak Navy simultaneously.”

“The Pakistan Navy will formally welcome PNS Babur, the first Miljum/Babar class ship to be built in Turkiye. Furthermore joining the Pakistan Navy is PNS Hanin, the third offshore patrol ship constructed in Romania.

As predicted, the chief guest for the event would be President Asif Ali Zardari.

Two ships are being constructed in Istanbul and two in Karachi as part of the Pakistan-Turkey agreement. At this time, preparations are underway for three further Babur class ships: PNS Badr, Tariq, and Khyber.

Combat operations on Babur class ships can be conducted in the air, underwater, or above the surface.

“The Romanian Galati Shipyard has also constructed the third Yarmouk-class OPV 2600 for the Pakistan Navy,” the ISPR stated in reference to the PNS Hunain. Comparing the latter two OPVs to the first two ships in the Yarmouk class, the displacement is 2600 tonnes.
