On March 2, PTI will protest rigging around the country.
On March 2, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) declared that other political parties will join them in a statewide protest against electoral tampering in the general elections of 2024.
Secretary General Omar Ayub, who is also the PTI’s prime ministerial candidate, denounced the alleged “widespread” election cheating after meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan. He said that PTI and other political organisations would be participating in a countrywide rally, protesting what they saw as the administrative seizure of their seats.
Ayub stressed that the nation’s mandate and their seats had been jeopardised because the people had given the previous PTI chairman their mandate.
Ayub emphasised that Form-45s belonging to PTI-backed candidates who were victorious were evidence of anomalies in the voting process. In spite of Imran Khan’s imprisonment
Ayub reaffirmed PTI’s resolve to seek legal action in legislatures and courts, highlighting their fight for the truth.
Ayub also revealed the PTI’s nominees, Amir Dogar and Junaid Khan, for speaker and deputy speaker of the National Assembly, respectively.
Speaking outside Adiala jail, Sher Afzal Marwat, the central leader of the PTI, restated Imran Khan’s order to stage national demonstrations on March 2.
Marwat made it clear that internal party matters were the main topic of conversation with the former prime minister. He reaffirmed the intention of the elected PTI members to take the oath on February 29.
In line with the party’s policy, Marwat also said that Khan will communicate with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Even though PTI has had considerable electoral victory, it contests the vote results, claiming unfairness and anomalies.
The party intends to protest the purported rigging peacefully across the country. In the meantime, the second- and third-largest parties, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), have chosen to establish administrations in Punjab, Balochistan, and the Central region.
