On Pakistan Day, President Zardari bestows civil awards.

In honor of their exceptional contributions in a variety of fields, President Asif Ali Zardari presented Pakistan’s civic awards to 69 individuals on Sunday, including both foreigners and Pakistani citizens.

At the investiture event, which took place at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, several individuals received civic awards in appreciation of their contributions to the fields of health, education, literature, media, public service, research, diplomacy, and economics.

The federal ministers, the Senate chairman, lawmakers, civil society representatives, diplomats, members of the media, and many more attended the ceremony.

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the former prime minister and founder of the PPP, was awarded Nishan-i-Pakistan (posthumous) in honor of his exceptional contributions to the nation, democracy, and people. Sanam Bhutto, his daughter, accepted the honor.

Sultan Alai Akbar Allana, Dr. Syed Tauqir Hussain Shah, Phawaja Anwar Majeed, Ali Haider Gilani, Javed Jabbar, Saadia Rashid, Umar Farooq, Sana Hashwani, Safinaz Munir, Aneeqa Bano, Amin Muhammad Lakhani, Sarwar Munir Rao, Hassan Ayub, and Mir Nadir Khan Magsi are among the other notable honorees.

In the meantime, renowned oncologist Prof. Dr. Shaharyar received the Hilal-e-Imtiaz in appreciation of his contributions to the medical field.

Additionally, Agostino Da Polenza and Professor Valeria Picacentini were granted Tamgha-e-Pakistan, Dr. Xinmin Liu was given Tamgha-e-Quaid-e-Azam, and Hyder Qurbanov and Dr. Christine Brunhilde were given Sitara-e-Qauid-e-Azam.
