Ordinary citizens will not be subjected to anti-terrorism laws: CM Bugti

Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the chief minister of Balochistan, stated on Wednesday that the anti-terrorism law will not be applied to regular people, stating that it is intended to address terrorist attacks by means of special measures.
Speaking to the media, Bugti noted that workers were brutally murdered in the Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman neighbourhood and that the law there was altered overnight following a terrorist attack in France.
He recalled that in 2016, the mastermind, Saeed Badini, was apprehended but not convicted in time, and lawyers were shot dead. No one is brave enough to come forward as a witness against terrorism, he said, adding, “Ask the families who carried coffins about their pain.”
The chief minister emphasised the need for a permanent solution to the missing persons problem. “The relatives of any person arrested will be notified immediately. We intend to end the missing persons issue once and for all,” he promised.
He continued by saying that the burden of terrorism has been felt by the entire country. “Shouldn’t we lead this conflict? We can’t win this battle without the parliament’s leadership. Stopping terrorism in its tracks is part of our manifesto,” he continued.
Bugti pledged that, under any circumstances, his administration will never submit to terrorists.
