Our ancestors’ spirit of patriotism remains ingrained in us: The Bilawal

“This year, through the victory in the Marka-e-Haq, the people of Pakistan, through their unity, and the armed forces, through their courage and determination, have proven that the patriotic spirit of our forefathers, which illuminated the 1965 war, is still in our veins,” said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
He stated in his statement on Defence Day that September 6 is a day of courage, unwavering resolve, and national pride. It was the day that Pakistan’s valiant warriors, supported by the people’s unflinching strength, stood like an impregnable wall against an opponent that was weaker in spirit but considerably larger in size.
“September 6th’s spirit endures forever. It shows us that no force on earth can defeat a people united in faith, courage, and determination when the cause is just,” he continued.
The PPP has consistently defended the nation by standing side by side with the military and the populace, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized.
He remembered how, as Foreign Minister during the 1965 war, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto became Pakistan’s firm voice on the international scene. Later, as Prime Minister, he established Pakistan’s nuclear program to make the nation’s defense invincible.
Similarly, by empowering the populace, implementing cutting-edge defenses like missile technology, and encouraging democratic unity, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto fortified the country. He stated that President Asif Ali Zardari ensured Pakistan’s resilience in the face of international challenges by giving the military forces unparalleled support in the war against terrorism.
On this day of remembering, the PPP Chairman called on the populace to reaffirm their commitment to solidarity, unity, and fortitude. Pakistan is currently dealing with a number of issues, including economic hardship, terrorism, extremism, and climate change.
We are reminded by the spirit of Marka-e-Haq that this fight extends beyond our boundaries. Additionally, it is a fight against inequality, injustice, and poverty. Together, we can overcome every obstacle and ensure a better future for our country, just as we did in 1965,” he stated.
He offered prayers for Pakistan’s strength and togetherness, for the martyrs of the 1965 war, and for everyone who lost their lives defending the country from terrorism.
