Overall Bowlers and Shaheen lead Pakistan to the next round of the Asia Cup.

At the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, Pakistan defeated the United Arab Emirates by 41 runs to advance to the next round of the Asia Cup.
Pakistan scored 146 for nine in their 20 overs when they batted first. With 50 runs off 36 balls with a strike rate of 138.88, Fakhar Zaman was the highest scorer with two fours and three sixes. While Shaheen Shah Afridi made an impressive 29 not out off 14 balls, including three fours and two sixes, at a strike rate of 207.14, captain Salman Agha contributed 20 runs off 27 balls.
In response, the United Arab Emirates had a difficult time, being dismissed for 105 in 17.4 overs. Dhruv Parashar made 20 and Rahul Chopra scored 35 runs off of 35 balls. Abrar Ahmed also secured two wickets at a cost of just 13 runs, while Shaheen Shah Afridi took two wickets for 16 runs in three overs. Contributing two wickets for 19 runs was Haris Rauf.
Throughout the innings, Pakistan’s bowlers applied constant pressure, keeping the opposition to a run rate of little under six per over. While the UAE only managed 11 extras, Pakistan’s total included 13 extras.
With the win, Pakistan was guaranteed a spot in the tournament’s next round. After a dismal pursuit, the UAE will want to get back on track.
