Pakistan endorses the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

Pakistan has endorsed the Gaza ceasefire accord and urged its prompt and comprehensive execution.

The Foreign Office official stated on Thursday that it is anticipated the truce will result in a durable ceasefire and facilitate an increase in humanitarian supplies.

The indiscriminate application of force by Israeli occupation troops has resulted in unparalleled loss of life and property and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of innocent Palestinian civilians. The official statement asserted that Israel’s expansionist ambitions have destabilized the whole region.

Pakistan reaffirms its endorsement of a fair, comprehensive, and lasting resolution to the Palestinian conflict, culminating in the establishment of a sovereign state of Palestine founded on pre-June 1967 boundaries, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

Ceasefire Agreement between Israel and Hamas

On Wednesday, negotiators finalized a phased agreement to conclude the Gaza conflict between Israel and Hamas, according to an official informed about the discussions, following 15 months of hostilities that have resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinians and heightened tensions in the Middle East.

The unannounced pact delineates a six-week preliminary ceasefire period, encompassing the incremental withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages held by Hamas in return for Palestinian inmates detained by Israel, as reported by an official to Reuters.

Phase one involves the liberation of 33 Israeli hostages, comprising all women, children, and men aged over 50.

Negotiations for the implementation of the second phase will commence on the 16th day of phase one, anticipated to encompass the release of all remaining captives, a lasting truce, and the total departure of Israeli soldiers from Gaza.

The third phase aims to facilitate the repatriation of all remaining corpses and initiate the rehabilitation of Gaza, overseen by Egypt, Qatar, and the United Nations.

The accord results from protracted negotiations intermittently held by Egyptian and Qatari mediators, supported by the United States. It comes just ahead of US President-elect Donald Trump’s Jan. 20 inauguration.
