Pakistan has requested the Afghan government take the necessary measures to stop the occurrence of cross-border assaults on its territory.
During his speech at the SCO Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan, he emphasized that the SCO holds great promise for the future due to its significant people and socio-economic capabilities. As leaders, he stated that it is our duty to transcend political geopolitics and collaborate in order to ensure a peaceful and prosperous future for our populations.
Referring to the frequent declaration to allocate resources to enhance the interconnectedness of the SCO region via effective transportation routes and dependable distribution networks, he emphasized the need to translate these statements into tangible measures.
The Prime Minister highlighted that Pakistan’s geographical location renders it an optimal commerce route for the whole region. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which is the main project of the Belt and Road initiative, enhances the goal of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) for regional connectivity and economic interaction.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted the importance of encouraging the use of domestic currencies for bilateral transactions within the SCO region, as this can help prevent global financial disruptions. According to him, Pakistan endorses the idea of establishing an alternate development funding mechanism inside the SCO to provide the necessary boost to stalled development projects.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed his approval of the SCO agreement on environmental protection and emphasized that Pakistan is dedicated to promoting a sustainable world that is beneficial to nature.
The Prime Minister emphasized the imperative of peace and stability in Afghanistan. He emphasized the imperative for the international community to actively and effectively collaborate with the interim Afghan government in addressing their authentic economic and developmental requirements. He emphasized that the interim Afghan government must implement tangible and efficacious actions to prevent any use of its territory for acts of terrorism against other nations.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need to combat terrorism and extremism, regardless of whether they are perpetrated by individuals, groups, or states, through a unified and thorough approach.
He emphasized the need of upholding the globally acknowledged concepts of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the fundamental right of people to self-determination. According to him, the UNSC resolutions provide a practical structure to address long-standing conflicts, including those in our area. He stated that the lack of prompt and harmonious implementation of these decisions has resulted in unthinkable hardships for the people of the region.
The Prime Minister strongly expressed concerns about the severe Israeli actions against Palestinians and urged the SCO to openly condemn these brutal acts. The Prime Minister also called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, leading to the establishment of two separate states. This solution includes the creation of a viable, secure, and contiguous Palestine, based on the borders prior to 1967, with Al-Quds Al Sharif as its capital.
The Prime Minister expressed remorse at the escalation of Islamophobia, emphasizing that it contradicts the principles of human decency and should be generally prohibited.
