Pakistan reiterates its commitment to repatriating illegal Afghan immigrants in a lawful manner.

Concerns have been voiced by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Embassy about the incarceration of Afghan nationals in Islamabad, including those who are said to possess legitimate passports.

Authorities in Pakistan have responded by stating that the current operation is aimed at illegal immigrants and is being carried out in a responsible, open, and compliant manner with international standards.

Afghan citizens who possess legitimate documentation, like as Proof of Registration (PoR) cards, Afghan Citizen Cards (ACC), visas, or those listed for third-country resettlement, are exempt from repatriation, according to Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon. “Our goal is to make sure that those without documentation are dealt with legally without interfering with those who are legally recognized,” he said.

Initiatives to Simplify the Verification Process

Pakistani officials have set up a special facility to help Afghan citizens effectively verify their credentials. It has been recommended that Afghan people living in Islamabad should carry identification documents to prevent needless delays during the verification procedure.
