Pakistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan aim to enhance their trilateral cooperation in order to promote peace and stability.
The consensus on this matter was reached during the trilateral summit involving Prime Minister Shehbaz Shari, President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. This summit took place on Wednesday, alongside the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Following that, a joint statement issued on Thursday stated that the trilateral summit addressed several regional and international matters such as Gaza, Cyprus, Islamophobia, and the connections between Turkiye, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan.
The trilateral cooperation mechanism among Turkiye, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan, which has previously held meetings with parliamentary speakers and foreign affairs ministers, will now also include state leaders.
Furthermore, it was verified that they all possessed a common aspiration to facilitate opportunities for the three nations to collaborate.
It was mutually decided that enhancing trilateral collaboration between Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan will not only benefit the well-being of the populations in all three countries, but also help foster peace and stability at both regional and global levels.
The significance of collaboration among the three nations in addressing transnational threats, specifically in the battle against terrorism, and the collective determination to resolve this issue was also reiterated.
Future meetings of the trilateral cooperation process will take place in all three countries, namely Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif suggested the creation of tripartite institutional institutions, namely in the economic and investment sectors, to enhance the trilateral economic and commercial cooperation between Pakistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan.
The prime minister expressed his opinions during the opening session of the Pakistan-Turkiye-Azerbaijan Trilateral Summit, which took place alongside the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
The PM Office Media Wing stated in a news statement that they were pleased with the commencement of the first session of the Pakistan-Turkiye-Azerbaijan Trilateral Meeting at the summit level.
Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized that Pakistan highly esteemed its fraternal relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey, which are based on profound cultural, historical, and religious connections, as well as mutual respect and support on fundamental matters.
