Pakistanis stuck in Syria will take a chartered airplane back.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was informed that a chartered jet would return the trapped Pakistani nationals who had traveled from Syria to Beirut on the night between December 12 and 13.
In relation to the evacuation of Pakistani citizens from Syria, the prime minister presided over a crucial meeting. The duty of making sure the returning Pakistanis were greeted warmly at the airport fell to Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal during the meeting.
In a meeting, the prime minister was informed about the evacuation of Pakistani citizens from Syria, according to a news release from the prime minister’s office.
Twenty instructors and children were among the more than 350 Pakistanis who were airlifted to Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, a day earlier after being stranded in Syria.
Sources said that plans were made to return them to Pakistan within the following 48 hours using a special flight. High-ranking officials at the Civil Aviation Authority approved the trip.
In order to guarantee their safety and ease their return trip, Pakistani embassy representatives in Syria and Lebanon have been working together.
