Pakistan’s new regulations for holders of visitor visas
For foreign travel, visitors with visitation visas must have round-trip tickets from the same airline, according to regulations enforced by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Growing worries about illegal immigration and visa infractions have prompted this action.
Strict orders have been given not to grant boarding credentials to passengers who fail to present a two-way ticket from the same airline, according to a dispatch made by the FIA and aviation authorities to all domestic and international airlines. Travelers visiting well-known locations like Bangkok, Malaysia, and Dubai are specifically the focus of the instruction.
In the event that travelers reserve separate tickets for their round-trip travel with two or more airlines, the passenger name record (PNR) number for each leg of the trip must match. With this, we hope to prevent any passenger from abusing holes in airline ticketing systems to obtain an unauthorized stay abroad.
To stop people from overstaying their visas or working illegally abroad, authorities have also been instructed to closely monitor people with low travel profiles. A person with knowledge of the situation stated, “As per the new guidelines, all travelers with low profiles or inconsistent travel patterns must undergo additional screening.”
As most passengers do not buy two-way tickets from the same airline to go to other countries, especially for work, these instructions are part of an attempt to stop people from traveling overseas without the necessary papers.
Concern has also been voiced by the authorities regarding the increasing difficulties in recouping deportation costs from travelers who are returned to Pakistan due to visa violations. According to the FIA, a large number of deportees return to their home countries with insufficient funds, which means that airlines and governmental organizations must bear the expense of their return.
