PCB and the renowned Muhammad Hafeez part ways
Mohammad Hafeez, who was working in the role of Director of the Pakistan Men’s Team, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) parted ways on Thursday.
In a formal statement, PCB thanked the former captain for his service to the team as a director starting in November 2023.
The statement said, “The Pakistan Cricket Board is deeply grateful to Mohammad Hafeez, Director of the Pakistan men’s cricket team, for his invaluable contributions.”
With best wishes for his future, the cricketing community said goodbye to the former all-rounder.
“Players have been motivated by Hafeez’s love for the game, and his guidance on the tour of Australia and New Zealand has been invaluable. The statement said, “The PCB wishes Hafeez happiness and success in his future endeavors.
For those who are unaware, after Pakistan failed to advance to the ICC World Cup 2023, which was hosted in India, Mohammad Hafeez took over as the Director of the Pakistan Men’s Team in November. Mickey Arthur was previously holding this position.
Pakistan’s three-match Test series against Australia was their first assignment, and they lost all three games handily, prolonging their losing run in Australia.
Pakistan’s five-match T20I series ended in a 4-1 loss over New Zealand as well.
