PDMA Punjab issues a warning for the eleventh monsoon season.

The 11th monsoon rainy spell has prompted an alert from Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

The 11th period of monsoon rainfall is predicted to hit the higher catchment areas of rivers between September 16 and 19, according to a PDMA spokeswoman.

Throughout the province, all commissioners and deputy commissioners have been instructed to maintain their vigilance. Irfan Ali Kathia, Director General of PDMA, issued a warning that rivers and seasonal streams may overflow as a result of excessive rainfall.

He went on to say that the administration, comprising commissioners, deputy commissioners, and pertinent personnel, has been put on high alert in response to orders from the Punjab Chief Minister.

Additionally, the Departments of Livestock, Local Government, Irrigation, Health, and Communication & Works have been advised to be ready for any disaster.

The DG PDMA advised people to stay inside during storms, avoid congregating or engaging in recreational activities close to rivers, and take preventative steps when inclement weather strikes.

He urged people to avoid needless travel and to call the PDMA helpline 1129 right away in the event of an emergency.
