PM directs investigation into missing 34,000 tons of wheat in 2022
Following bureaucracy’s non-cooperation with the Prime Minister’s Inspection Team since 2022, the prime minister has directed that the corruption investigation at PASSCO be completed within a week, according to documentation.
The investigation into former M.D. PASSCO Capt. (rtd) Saeed must be finished within a week, and PM Shehbaz has directed that 34,000 tons of wheat go missing.
The DG FIA’s investigation into the missing wheat scam has also been directed by Shehbaz Sharif.
During the initial investigation, the Prime Minister’s Inspection Team was led astray and advised that the former M.D. PASSCO had retired from the army. That former M.D. retired captain Saeed was a member of the competitive commission was also covered up.
In addition, during the 2022 flood year, the prime minister issued an order for personnel to be held accountable for any damage done to kept wheat. The submission of the wheat theft probe report within a fortnight was also instructed by him.
The ministries of Finance and Food Security have also been called upon to submit a thorough report regarding the outsourcing of all PASSCO-related tasks. He inquired, “Why did the general public not receive the impact of the government subsidy?” A probe of the Pakistan Agricultural Storage & Services Corporation’s administrative costs, bank arrears, and interest owed to the company was also mandated.
The administration has made the decision to report corrupt officers to the FIA and NAB.
