On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited President Asif Ali Zardari to talk about the current political and security climate in the nation.
The prime minister also gave the president an update on his recent official trips to Malaysia and Egypt during the meeting.
Prime Minister Sharif and President Zardari have decided to keep holding political talks on issues of national significance.
The current political and security climate, as well as recent regional and global events impacting Pakistan’s strategic and economic interests, were among the issues of national importance that the two leaders discussed.
In their one-on-one discussion, Prime Minister Sharif and President Zardari also decided to keep up political consultations on issues of national significance.
President Zardari and Field Marshal Asim Munir talk about national security and the situation in Afghanistan.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah Khan, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Senator Sherry Rehman, Nayyar Bukhari, and Saleem Mandviwala were also in attendance.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and President Asif Ali Zardari met earlier in the day to talk about domestic and external security issues as well as the situation in Afghanistan.
The President was informed by Field Marshal Asim Munir on the military’s response to Afghan aggression as well as current activities near the Afghan border.
President Zardari praised the military’s professionalism and alertness in stopping border attacks and protecting the country, expressing complete faith in their readiness, skills, and bravery.
