PM Shehbaz meets with US President Trump informally.

Both leaders reportedly shook hands cordially and engaged in a casual talk in a friendly setting. Ishaq Dar, the foreign minister and deputy prime minister, attended the meeting as well.

Notably, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the US President is a supporter of peace and wishes to bring about world peace in an interview with the media in New York.

The prime minister added that during his speech to the General Assembly, President Trump brought up peace initiatives.

He claimed that the ceasefire between Pakistan and India was made possible in large part by President Trump and his administration. “We sincerely thank President Trump from the bottom of our hearts,” he stated.
