PNS Yamama travels to Turkiye and takes part in a naval drill.
The recently commissioned Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Yamama visited the Golcuk and Aksaz Naval Bases in Turkey during her inaugural trip from Romania to Pakistan. Additionally, it took part in the Turkish Navy Exercise MAVI VATAN-2025.
The Turkish Naval Forces personnel and the Pakistani Naval Attaché had previously welcomed the ship upon its arrival.
The purpose of PNS Yamama’s visit to Turkiye was to bolster fraternal connections and reiterate Pakistan’s resolve to develop broad bilateral relations and defense cooperation with Turkiye, the statement added.
In the same vein, a variety of social and professional events were held throughout the visit, including leadership meetings, tours of Turkish naval installations, professional contacts, and discussions on topics of shared interest.
During his visit to PNS Yamama, Vice Admiral Ibrahim Ozden Kocer, the Deputy Commander of the Turkish Naval Fleet, was given a thorough briefing on the capabilities of the ship.
Along with port calls, PNS Yamama took part in Exercise MAVI VATAN-2025, which was conducted by the Turkish Navy. The only foreign unit that participated besides Turkish Naval Ships was PNS Yamama. The participation of PNS Yamama highlights the close ties that have been built over years of cooperation, fraternity, and respect between the Turkish and Pakistani navys.
Damen Shipyards in Galati, Romania, constructed four offshore patrol vessels for the Pakistan Navy, including PNS Yamama.
