PTA warns that unregistered mobile phones will be blocked throughout Pakistan.

In an effort to curb the abuse of unregistered mobile phones, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has started a new campaign and issued a warning that all such devices will soon be removed from service.
Users have a brief opportunity to register their devices and prevent any disruptions, according to the authority.
PTA sends a severe warning
PTA urges citizens who continue to use unregistered cell phones to take immediate action. The regulator has warned that unregistered gadgets might result in major legal repercussions for their owners in addition to being barred from mobile networks.
Officials emphasised the importance of mobile registration for both national security and user safety.
Risks to national security and fraud
Unregistered devices have been connected by the PTA to a number of hazards, such as:
dangers to the security of the country.
use in cybercrimes and financial fraud.
illegal distribution and exchange of gadgets that evade security measures.
Since buying and selling unregistered mobile phones is illegal, citizens have been advised to refrain from doing so.
Limited time to sign up
Time is running out, the authorities informed cellphone users. In addition to experiencing service interruptions, those who do not register their devices risk having their phones permanently prohibited from using Pakistani networks.
In its official statement, the PTA issued a warning: “Register your device today to avoid blocking and disruption.”
