PTA’s recent proposal for freelancers on continuous internet connectivity in Pakistan
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has declared the continuous registration of IP addresses and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to guarantee seamless internet access nationwide.
The program is accessible to freelancers, enterprises, and foreign embassies functioning in Pakistan.
The PTA elucidated that VPN registration will assist customers in preserving seamless internet services and ensuring secure connectivity. Foreign missions have been advised to promptly register their VPNs with the PTA to prevent any interruptions.
The complimentary registration process is anticipated to conclude within two to three days after the verification of the internet service provider. Users necessitating above five IP addresses will incur an IP whitelisting cost.
Furthermore, servers situated overseas that serve users in Pakistan must also be registered under this program.
The PTA seeks to optimize internet usage while adhering to national legislation and safeguarding users against potential cybersecurity threats.
