Punjab introduces a novel cancer treatment that eliminates chemotherapy and surgery.

With the introduction of the first contemporary coblation cancer treatment in the province—a state-of-the-art substitute for surgery and chemotherapy—Punjab has reached a significant milestone in its healthcare history.
On Thursday, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will officially open the state-of-the-art facility at Mayo Hospital in Lahore.
Innovation in the treatment of cancer
The newest coblation technology, which is safer and more effective than standard surgery, will be used for the first time in Punjab to treat cancer patients. By using electrical heat to burn damaged tissues, the technology lessens discomfort and speeds up the healing process considerably.
The technique has already been successfully tested by Mayo Hospital physicians. In two pioneering cases, electrical heat was used to treat a patient with breast cancer and another with a tumor obstructing arteries that carry blood to the liver.
Chinese machinery and training
In order to create the first coblation center in the province, the chief minister had acquired sophisticated gear from China. Before the official debut, the equipment has been placed at Mayo Hospital and the staff and physicians have received the necessary training.
Experts in medicine characterize this development as a significant advancement in the treatment of cancer, providing patients with a less invasive and uncomfortable substitute for chemotherapy or surgery.
Coblation: What Is It?
The coblation method uses heat produced by electricity to eliminate malignant tissues. With the help of this cutting-edge technique, physicians may precisely target tumors, resulting in faster recovery times and less suffering for patients.
Coblation offers patients a quicker route to recovery than standard treatments, which frequently entail a protracted recuperation period and a high risk of adverse consequences.
Physicians praise progress
Physicians at Mayo Hospital have praised the coblation center as a groundbreaking development in Punjab’s cancer treatment. They think that patients in the province, especially those with liver, breast, and lung malignancies, will have more treatment options now that this technology is available.
