Punjab is going to start offering classes in foreign languages.
The chief minister emphasized the need of cutting-edge technical training programs to promote economic growth and lower unemployment while presiding over a conference to finalize the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Mapping Plan here on Sunday.
According to Maryam Nawaz, TEVTA institutes ought to offer advanced degrees in market-driven trades.
The CM underlined that instruction in building, apparel, textiles, tourism, hospitality, ICT, car assembly and repair, food processing, biomedical technology, light engineering, renewable energy, and surgical instruments must all be included in the new courses.
She gave the relevant authorities instructions to form alliances with top businesses in order to facilitate internships, apprenticeships, and employment placements.
She also gave them the order to start offering foreign language classes in TEVTA institutions, including Korean, Japanese, German, Chinese, and Arabic.
CM Maryam approved the plan to form the Punjab Overseas Employment Promotion Authority for Skilled Jobs in the Global Market and gave the go-ahead to contract out the “Heavy Machinery Driving/Operator Course” in association with large-scale developers of construction projects.
In addition to the development of cutting-edge welding and construction course labs in Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Multan, Attock, Taxila, Layyah, and Mianwali, the CM sanctioned the construction of 45 welding workshops spread over 9 towns.
In addition, she approved a plan to hire 1,000 workers in order to address TEVTA’s staffing shortfall and gave the go-ahead to raise the monthly budget by Rs 2,000 per student to be used for the purchase of training materials for in-person instruction.
Additionally, she gave the appropriate authorities instructions to publish policies that would guarantee the instructors’ biometric attendance.
