In the past, the Punjab police claimed to have encountered Shahid Lund, the leader of the infamous Lund gang from the Kathca area (a riverine area).
The Punjab Police first acknowledged that Shahid Lund was slain by his own friends, but they later asserted that Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur police had shot and killed the ringleader of the Lund gang in a coordinated operation.
Shahid was an infamous criminal from the Katcha area who had been on the run for a while. He was wanted in a number of high-profile offenses, including murder and kidnapping for ransom. The seriousness of his illegal actions was demonstrated by the Punjab government’s Rs 10 million reward for his apprehension.
According to the Punjab Police, Shahid Lund was shot dead by his accomplice Umar Lund after a furious altercation between the two. Shahid was killed when Umar Lund and his friends opened fire, according to the first police claim.
Shahid Lund was slain by the police, the police announced shortly after. They also stated that Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur police had been working together for two months to eradicate criminal elements from the area.
The inspector general of police praised the Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur police teams for their effective operation.
