Punjab’s 18-member government is sworn in.
On Wednesday, the 18-member Punjab government was sworn in.
At a ceremony conducted at the Governor’s House, Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman administered the oath to the cabinet members. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was there as well.
Syed Muhammad Ashiq Hussain Shah, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Rana Sikandar Hayat, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Zeeshan Rafique, Bilal Akbar Khan, Sohaib Ahmed Malik, Azma Zahid Bokhari, Bilal Yasin, Ramesh Singh Arora, Khalil Tahir, Faisal Ayub Khokhar, Shafay Hussain, Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani, and Sohail Shoukat Butt are among the ministers.
Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the PML-N, gave his approval to the cabinet ministers’ names.
The position of senior provincial minister has been assigned to Marriyum Aurangzeb. She will also be in charge of the departments of the environment, the forest department, and planning and development.
Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman has been appointed to this position.
Azma Zahid Bukhari has been appointed Minister of Culture and Information. Rana Sikandar Hayat (Ministry of Primary Education), Kazim Pirzada (Irrigation Department), and Ashiq Hussain Kirmani have been assigned to these positions.
A member of the Sikh community has been appointed as a minister for the first time in the province government. The Ministry of Minority Affairs has been assigned to Ramesh Singh Arora.
In a similar vein, Sher Ali Gorchani has been given the Ministry of Mines and Minerals, Tahir Khalil Sindhu will oversee the Ministry of Human Rights, Khawaja Salman Rafiq will oversee Specialized Health, Khawaja Imran Nazir will oversee Primary and Secondary Health, Zeeshan Rafiq will oversee Local Government, and Malik Sohaib Ahmad Berth will oversee the Ministry of Communications.
