Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan express grave concerns over the existence of terrorist organizations in Afghanistan.

The ongoing existence and activities of terrorist groups in Afghanistan, such as Al-Qaeda, the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), and others, have drawn strong concern from Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan.

The announcement came after Russia called the fourth quadrilateral conference on Afghanistan during the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session in New York.

The four nations emphasized the danger these organizations represent to regional stability during the discussion and called for concerted international action to destroy terrorist infrastructure based in Afghanistan.

The summit underlined the four countries’ shared commitment to help Afghanistan as a free, independent, united, and peaceful state, according to the Foreign Office.

The four foreign ministers emphasized how important it is to boost Afghanistan’s economy and lessen the country’s citizens’ humanitarian suffering.

The attendees decided to improve regional connectivity and trade cooperation with Afghanistan.

Additionally, they demanded that the 1988 UN sanctions framework be modified to take into account the reality on the ground today.

The summit emphasized that humanitarian help should not be politicized and recommended for increasing emergency relief to Afghanistan.

According to the UN, Afghanistan-based terrorism continues to pose the “gravest threat” to Pakistan.

The ministers called on Afghan officials to combat terrorist organizations and break up networks that finance, recruit, and provide access to weapons.

The destruction of terrorist infrastructure and training facilities in Afghanistan was emphasized as a top priority.

Additionally, the four parties decided to strengthen their bilateral and international counterterrorism cooperation.

It was also emphasized how important it is for Afghan refugees to return in dignity and voluntarily.

Both Iran and Pakistan received praise for taking in millions of Afghan refugees, and the international world was asked to help both nations more.

The ministers reaffirmed how crucial it is for Afghanistan to establish a broad-based, inclusive government.

In addition to calling for the protection of the Afghan people’s basic rights and welfare, the meeting emphasized the rights of Afghan women and girls, particularly with regard to education, employment, and public involvement.

NATO nations were also deemed responsible for the current state of affairs in Afghanistan.

The foreign ministers stated their support for regional and global initiatives aimed at finding a political solution to the Afghan situation and condemned the construction of foreign military bases in or near Afghanistan.
