Saudi Crown Prince and Army Chief Talk Defense Cooperation

Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir talked about bilateral relations initiatives and a variety of topics of shared interest.

As to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) release, General Syed Asim Munir is presently in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for an important visit.

It further stated that the Saudi crown prince and the army head had a thorough conversation on a number of topics of shared interest, such as improving bilateral ties, regional peace, and defense and security cooperation.

In addition to recognizing His Royal Highness’ important contribution to regional peace and stability, COAS conveyed his thanks for his unwavering support of Pakistan. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister, Prince Khalid Bin Salman, also had a separate meeting with COAS. Dignitaries pledged to significantly enhance defense and security cooperation, according to the ISPR.

H.E. Engineer Talal Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Assistant Minister of Defense; Air Chief Marshal Fayyadh Bin Hamed Bin Raqeeb’ Al Ruwaili, Chief of General Staff of the Royal Saudi Armed Forces; and H.E. Lieutenant General Fahad bin Saud Al-Johani, Chief of the Royal Saudi Land Forces, also met with Syed Asim Munir, the statement continued.

A Saudi Arabian investment delegation headed by Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih visited the COAS in Rawalpindi earlier on October 10.

According to the ISPR, the discussion covered topics of shared interest as well as ways to foster closer collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan across a range of industries.

COAS Asim Munir conveyed his appreciation for King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s steadfast support of Pakistan.

According to the COAS, the Saudi business delegation’s visit is a testament to the two countries’ long-standing and fraternal ties. “I hope both countries will benefit from this visit,” he said. The Saudi delegation received a promise of full support from COAS General Asim Munir.
