The Karachi administration has enacted Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code throughout the city for a duration of four days.

The Commissioner of Karachi enacted Section 144 based on the proposal of Inspector General of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon, citing potential dangers to public order.

A notification has been issued stating that a restriction is imposed on gatherings of five or more individuals, processions, and public meetings. To uphold peace and order and guarantee public safety, the prohibition will be enforced from October 13 to October 17.

The IGP Sindh, in his letter, requested the enforcement of Section 144 due to potential threats to public order.
