Social media restrictions in Pakistan are unacceptable, according to the US
During a briefing for the media in Washington on Tuesday, US State Department spokeswoman Matthew Miller stated that restrictions on Pakistani social media sites were unacceptable.
“We support freedom of expression in Pakistan, as we do everywhere,” stated Matthew Miller. We will continue to stress the value of upholding these fundamental freedoms in our interactions with Pakistani officials since we deplore the partial or whole shutdowns of online platforms by the government, such as Twitter or X.”
In response to a query on purported anomalies in the most recent Pakistani polls, Miller stated: “There was a competitive election in Pakistan.” Numerous millions of individuals raised their voices. It goes without saying that we will cooperate with the newly elected administration.
