Ten militants are killed by security troops to stop an attack on Bannu Cantt.
The terrorists tried to breach the Bannu cantt but were repelled, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). As a result, they blew up an explosive-filled car against the outer wall.
Eight staff members also suffered martyrdom as a result of the security forces’ fierce counterattack, which killed every attacker.
The public relations branch of the army went on to claim that the Hafiz Gul Bahadur gang, which is based in Afghanistan, was responsible for organizing the Bannu Canti attack.
Afghanistan has been urged by the ISPR to take decisive action against terrorists operating from its territory who are targeting Pakistan.
It is relevant to note that, as of 2024, there were more terrorist events in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) according to a report from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).
The study claims that 273 terrorist attacks took place in the province this year, with 118 police officers as their target.
According to the report, there have been up to 1,433 operations conducted in 2024, resulting in the capture of 322 terrorists and the death of 124 others.
In addition, the report stated that 55 terror attempts, including two planned suicide strikes in Peshawar, were foiled.
