The £190 million verdict against Bushra Bibi, the founder of the PTI, was postponed once more.
PTI lawyer Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry has been notified by court officials that the £190 million case in the Islamabad Accountability Court involving the PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi has been postponed once more. The new date for the announcement is January 13.
Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry stated, “The verdict will not be announced today, as confirmed by the staff.”
The postponement was caused by Judge Nasir Javed Rana’s departure, according to court officials.
In the past, the Islamabad Accountability Court heard the £190 million reference; nevertheless, the court was unable to render a decision against the PTI founder and his spouse, so it postponed the pronouncement of the result.
Delivery of the ruling is currently planned for January 6. The new date was communicated to the defense attorneys by the court officials.
After the arguments were concluded on December 18, the ruling was first reserved. The verdict has been postponed from its original delivery date of today, as announced by Judge Nasir Javed Rana.
The court notified the PTI attorneys that today would not see the announcement of the ruling. A new date for the hearing will be determined by the Accountability Court in G-11.
During the hearing, attorney Khalid Chaudhry told Judge Nasir Javed Rana that the verdict was anticipated today. The judge replied that the case ruling was still being drafted and that the High Court’s procedure was still in progress; therefore, the verdict would not be delivered today. He requested that the attorneys look for a new date within ten minutes.
Importantly, the Islamabad Accountability Court was supposed to rule on Monday, but four days ago it postponed its verdict on the £190 million reference against Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.
Thirty-five witnesses provided testimonies to the NAB during the trial of the £190 million reference, which was finished in a year. After the hearings were concluded, the court reserved its decision until December 18, which will be delivered at Adiala Jail after the PTI founder’s attorneys cross-examine the witnesses.
