The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is requesting the appointment of a permanent Director General.
Although there is an urgent requirement for a reliable leader, the CAA has not yet selected an autonomous Director General, causing apprehension among the industry.
Presently, the duties of the DG are being overseen by the Secretary of Aviation, who has been entrusted with interim authority.
According to sources, the process of selecting a new Director General (DG) has not yet even reached the stage of advertising, which is causing a further delay in filling the leadership position.
The absence of a permanent DG has allegedly caused substantial operating difficulties for the CAA, indicating that this delay has had negative effects.
