The cost of electricity is anticipated to decrease by Rs1.04 per unit.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has suggested lowering electricity rates by Rs1.04 per unit as part of the fuel price adjustment for December.
The decrease has been requested on the grounds of less dependence on power plants that use foreign fuel. On January 30, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), to which the application has been submitted, will hear the matter.
If authorized, the cut would offer distribution companies’ (DISCOs’) customers substantial relief totaling about Rs3.90 billion. It is anticipated that customers’ February electricity bills will reflect this modification.
The CPPA’s action emphasizes the value of using domestic energy sources to cut expenses. Following a comprehensive evaluation of the application and supporting documentation at the appointed hearing, NEPRA will render the final judgment.

Hussain claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government had damaged the nation’s economy and launched a broadside attack on the party.
He declared that every effort was being made by the government to lead the nation to prosperity.
