The death of retired Justice Faqir Khokhar, head of the Missing Persons Commission

On Wednesday, retired Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar, who was been named head of the Missing Persons Commission, died.

He was receiving treatment at the Services hospital in Lahore.

The Supreme Court said in a statement that his funeral prayer will be said in Lahore following the Asr prayer.

At a constitutional court hearing on missing people cases, retired Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar was named the new chairman of the commission by Additional Attorney General (AAG) Malik Javed Iqbal, who had previously served as the panel’s head.

The commission had been led by Iqbal, the former chairman of the NAB, since 2011.
