The FBR has terminated high-ranking officials from their positions.
According to the information provided, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has dismissed 16 officers of grade 20 from the In Land Revenue Services and 11 officers of grade 20 from the Customs group based on intelligence reports.
According to a notification issued by the FBR, several individuals including Dr. Akhtar Hussain, Customs Collector Islamabad, Muhammad Adnan Akram, Director Transit Trade Lahore, Irum Maqbool Aamir, DG Law and Prosecution, Naveed Iqbal, Director Transit Trade Gwadar, Ahsan Khan, Raza Khan, Amreen Tarar, Aamir Rasheed, Zahoor Ahmed, Qazi Afzal, Naseer Janjua, Muhammad Abid, Humera Maryam, Naved Akhtar, and others have been dismissed from their positions.
On April 26, 2024, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) relocated nearly all important personnel, such as the Member Inland Revenue (Policy) and the Member Customs (Operations), to the Admin Pool of the Board.
The FBR has reassigned and promoted 22 high-ranking Inland Revenue officers, ranging from BS-20 to BS-22. This includes 13 important members/director generals of the Board and two chief commissioners Inland Revenue.
The Finance Minister, Muhammad Aurangzeb, praised the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for its exceptional achievement in exceeding the revenue collection goal for the fiscal year 2023-24, with a total collection of Rs 9,311 billion.
According to a news release, the minister paid a visit to the headquarters of the Federal Board of Revenue and conducted a discussion with Chairman FBR Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana and other members of the Board.
