The Federal Board has announced a new grading system for the SSC and HSSC exams.

The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) said that a new way to grade tests would start in 2026 for SSC (Matric) exams and in 2027 for HSSC (FA/FSc) exams. With the new method, students who get 96% to 100% will get an A++, and those who get 91% to 95% will get an A+. An A mark will be given to scores between 86% and 90%, and a B++ grade will be given to scores between 81% and 85%. There are also 76%–80% B+, 71%–75% B, 61%–70% C+, 51%–60% C, and 40%–50% D. If a student scores less than 40%, they will be categorized as “Ungraded” and can take the test again if they meet other requirements. The new system attempts to provide a more exact evaluation scale that better matches academic recognition with students’ achievement levels.
